The West Delaware Athletic Department will host a volleyball cancer awareness night event for the first time ever tonight inside Seedorff Gymnasium. First-year Hawks Athletics Director Mike Morrison explains:

Morrison says they will continue a trend at West Delaware to having other cancer awareness sporting events, something that was started this past summer with the baseball program:
The affects of cancer are endured by many these days of course and Morrison says it’s a quality experience for the athletes to be involved in such a worthy cause:
On the court tonight, will be a huge contest for the final regular season WaMaC match for both the class 4A 4th-ranked 26-3 Hawks and the 2nd-rated 17-1 Solon Spartans with the east division conference title up for grabs. Hawks head coach Brett Mather knows his team will have their toughest conference match-up and maybe of the season so far with the Spartans but his team has been waiting for this moment with the goal of a conference championship. They also know the most important task awaits them in the postseason which starts next week:
Varsity match time is slated for 7:30pm tonight after senior night honors are held and the West Delaware Concert Choir performs the National Anthem. KMCH Sports Director Jon Swisher will take the air at about 7:25pm for all the action here on KMCH.
Ed-Co will also be hosting their 5th annual Pink Night tonight with the theme “Game on! Never Give Up Hope”. The Vikings will play Clayton Ridge with the Freshman/Sophomore match getting underway at 5:30. A soup supper will run from 5 until 7:30 with a free will donation. They will laso be having a silent auction cake/dessert auction. All proceeds will be donated locally to support newly-diagnosed breat cancer patients in Delaware and Clayton Counties.
