The first snowfall of the year is here a little early. A cold front has brought a little bit of snow to east-central Iowa. Manchester has been seeing snow fall throughout the morning Tuesday, though nothing is sticking to the ground. Areas to the north, including Strawberry Point, haven’t seen any snowfall yet this morning. The National Weather Service says the snow that does fall won’t be much – maybe an inch or so, if that – and it’ll vary depending on how it melts on the grass versus the pavement. Either way, NWS meteorologist Brad Small says it’s not expected to stick around long. There’s another chance for snow Wednesday morning. Highs this week will be in the 40s and 50s – our normal high this time of year is around 59 degrees.
