Harvest continues for many area farmers. The state Agriculture Department says 70-percent of soybeans and 35-percent of corn has been harvested so far throughout the state. Dennis Lindsay farms in the Masonville area and says things are moving along.
Andy Sabers, who farms with his dad north of Manchester, also says the harvest has also been going well for them.
Dave Venteicher, who farms in the Strawberry Point area, agrees.
Some farmers weren’t quite sure what to expect when they ended up with a wet spring and dry summer, but Liz Francois, who farms near Masonville, says you just deal with the hand you’re dealt.
The state Ag Department says the corn harvest is about 15 percentage points behind normal. The soybean harvest is 11 percentage points behind normal.
