The Wartburg Knights Football team improved their record to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in Iowa Conference play last Saturday as they defeated Luther 24-21. Wartburg took a three-point lead into halftime as former West Delaware Hawk, sophomore Michael Bohlke made a 28-yard field goal with 0:15 to play in the first half. Sophomore running back Brandon Domeyer another former Hawk scored the game-winning touchdown as he caught a 17-yard pass to cap a nine-play, 61-yard drive with 5:53 remaining in the 4th quarter. Domeyer recorded his second consecutive 100-yard game as he finished with 150 on the ground. He also led all receivers with 33 yards on four catches. A number of other former area graduates reside on the Knights roster this fall, they include: Freshmen; Carter Funke of Maquoketa Valley. Brendan Schott of North Linn, Mason Simon-Ressler of Western Dubuque. Sophomore Hunter Westhoff and Logan Pitz of Western Dubuque and Robbie Anstoetter of Beckman. With the victory, the Knights have now won their last four straight games and return to action on the road this week at the University of Dubuque.
