Several area teams have made the state football playoffs. In 3A, West Delaware will have home field advantage in the first round when they go up against Marion. Western Dubuque has earned a trip to Solon. In 2A, Beckman will play host to Hampton-Dumont, while Monticello will have to travel north to Waukon. Cascade will play host to LaPorte City Union. In Class 1A undefeated Maquoketa Valley hosts West Branch. In Class A Starmont travels to Grundy Center.
A few other Northeast Iowa teams also made post season play – 3A Central Dewitt gets the unenviable task of traveling to Decorah, Maquoketa hosts Crestwood, in 2A CPU travels to New Hampton. Wapsie Valley hosts Belle Plaine, and Clayton Ridge will host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in the Class 1A bracket. And in 8-man, Elkader Central goes up against undefeated Don Bosco and undefeated Springville hosts Tripoli.
Round one is this Wednesday night, October 30th, with the winners advancing to second round play Monday, Novermber 4th.
