Beginning Friday, Operation New View Community Action Agency will begin taking applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Households in Delaware and Dubuque counties can apply for this first-come first-served program if they meet the federal income guidelines – households of one cannot have an annual gross income of more than $17,235; households of two cannot exceed $23,265; households of three $29,295; households of four $35,325 and households of five $41,355. Area residents who are interested just need to provide proof of a Social Security number for each member of their household, proof of all household income for the last three months or for the most recent calendar year, and provide a copy of their heating, electric and telephone bills. If you’d like to make an appointment to apply for energy assistance, or if you’d like more information, call the Operation New View office in Delaware County at 927-4629 or Dubuque County at 556-5130, or apply online at operationnewview.org. Applications will be accepted through the end of April.
