Lonnie Ray Kruger, Manchester

Lonnie Ray Kruger, 56, of Manchester, Iowa, died on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.  He was born on December 24, 1956, in Manchester, the son of Burton and Donna (Wessel) Kruger.  He was raised and educated in the Edgewood area, and was a 1975 Edgewood High School graduate.

On June 30, 1979, Lonnie was united in marriage to Karen Juran at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Edgewood.  Three daughters were blessed to this union.  They resided in Edgewood most of their life.  Lonnie was employed by Manchester Livestock Auction, Kelchen Grain, and most recently transported the Delhi Amish Construction  group.

Lonnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, westerns, and card club.  He loved his family, and especially enjoyed his grandsons.

Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Manchester; three daughters, Jennifer Kruger of Cedar Rapids, Jessica (Tony) Overmann of Petersburg, and Jill (Matt) Henderson of Cedar Rapids; three grandsons, Kahmeron and Kooper Henderson, and Treyton Overmann; one sister, Linda (Gary) Lake of Delhi; and his step-mother, Lois Kruger of Edgewood.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Donna Kruger; and his father-and-mother-in-law, Robert and Donna Juran.

Mass of Christian Burial:  10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Edgewood.  Celebrant:  Rev. Stephen Lundgren

Visitation:    2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood, Iowa. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the Funeral Home on Monday.

Interment:  St. Mark’s Catholic  Cemetery – Edgewood, Iowa.
