Some phone lines in the city of Wadena were recently damaged by a truck pulling a grain auger. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened back on October 18th, and after an investigation, they discovered that the driver was Richard Chettinger of Lamont. Chettinger left the scene before law enforcement arrived. The phone lines were left sagging over the roadway, preventing traffic from going through the streets. Windstream reported around eight-thousand five-hundred dollars in damage to phone lines and equipment. The Sheriff’s Office has not released any details of any charges on Chettinger.
