Norma Marie Haas, 80, of Manchester, Iowa, died at the Good Neighbor Home on Sunday, November 17, 2013. She was born on November 9, 1933, in Robinson, the daughter of Earl and Grace (Reinbird) Hansen. Norma was raised in Robinson and attended school in Manchester.
On October 7, 1954, Norma was united in marriage to Gerald “Fido” Haas. Two daughters were born to this union. Together they resided in Manchester. Norma enjoyed working in the food service business throughout the years. “Fido” died in 1979 and Norma continued living in Manchester.
Norma ‘s favorite pastimes included canning a variety of goodies from her good sized garden, fishing and traveling. Norma was a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed gathering with friends at Second Helpings. Norma’s true labor of love was babysitting her grandchildren.
Survivors include her one daughter, Brenda Verrips of Manchester; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Arlo (Sharon) Hansen of Manchester; and one sister, Caroline (Roger) Clemen of Dubuque.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Haas; a daughter, Beverly Bond; a grandson, Christopher Bond; three sisters, Betty Hutchinson; Patricia Rasmanson; and Dorothy Haas; one brother, Vincent Hansen; and her parents.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21 , 2013 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Green Officiating.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home.
Inurnment: Oakland Cemetery – Manchester, at a later date.
