Joyce Woeste, 86, of Colesburg passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Colesburg United Methodist Church by Rev. Allen Craft. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Earlville. Additional visitation, one hour before services at the church.
Joyce was born June 4, 1927 in Colesburg, the daughter of Clarence and Irene (Timmons) Hartbeck.
On December 26, 1951, Joyce was united in marriage to Leland Woeste at the Immanuel Methodist Church in Colesburg. Joyce and Leland enjoyed nearly 50 years together. She received her teaching certification from Iowa State Teacher’s College. Joyce was employed by the Edgewood-Colesburg Schools for many years.
Joyce was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a supporter of Youth for Christ. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, listening to music, and had a great love for her family.
Joyce is survived by her children, Pamela (Dave) Smith of Ames, Janet (Jeff) Harbaugh of Edgewood, Debra (Barry) Champagne of Houston, TX, Michael (Jennifer) Woeste of Cincinnati, OH, Brian (Wendy) Woeste of Humboldt, Joan (Carl) Thurn of Dows, and Kimberly (Dennis) Woeste-Cox of Billings, MT; daughter-in-law, Kathy Woeste Hanson of Ames; sixteen grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred (Lawrence) Jensen of New Hampton.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leland in 2001 and a son, Scott in 1993.
