Iowa law enforcement will be out in full force again this Thanksgiving Holiday. The Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is announcing extra city, county and state officers will be on the roads ensuring that travelers buckle up, slow down and drive responsibly in order to save lives and reduce crashes. Nine people died in traffic accidents during last year’s Thanksgiving holiday, six of whom were not using seatbelts. Studies show that buckling up increases your odds of surviving a serious crash by 50 percent. Law enforcement will step up their presence starting today and running through Sunday.
