The Iowa Hawkeye Football team has been selected to play in the 19th annual Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida on January 1st. The Hawks will take on LSU in a rematch of the 2005 Capital One Bowl which resulted in “the catch” that will never be forgotten in Hawkeye Football history. It will be the fourth appearance in the Outback for Iowa with a 2-1 record.

2004: Iowa 37, Florida 17 2006: Florida 31, Iowa 24 2009: Iowa 31, South Carolina 10
The Hawks finished the regular season with a record of 8-4, 2nd place in the Legends division in the Big Ten. LSU is 9-3 with a 3rd place finish in the West division of the SEC.
Big Ten Outback Bowl Record is 10-14.
The Outback Bowl boasts the longest title sponsor among college bowls in Outback Steakhouse, who signed on with the game in April of 1995 and whose contract runs through the January 2104 bowl game.
