The RTA is still looking for volunteer drivers in Delaware County. The RTA, otherwise known as the Regional Transit Authority, is the non-profit organization with the short white buses you may see around Manchester and Delaware County. Over 25-hundred people use the buses in a three-county region, which also includes Dubuque and Jackson counties. RTA Mobility Coordinator Bridget Bartlett says people use the service to run errands or get to appointments.
The RTA has a big need for volunteer drivers in Delaware County right now.
Volunteer drivers don’t drive the buses – they use their own personal vehicles. Bartlett says along with the mileage reimbursement, there are other benefits to becoming a volunteer for the RTA.
