HS Basketball; West Delaware Boys On Road For First Time Tonight

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The final week of the first half of the basketball season begins tonight for area teams. The West Delaware Hawks enter play at Anamosa with a 2-3 record with all five games at home so far and are coming off of a non-conference win Saturday over Oelwein. First-year head coach Matt Uthoff knows it has to be a patient process with his group of players gaining more and more time at the varsity level:

UTHOFF1 12-17

Coach Uthoff knows their first WaMaC Northeast division contest against the 4-1 Blue Raiders will be a solid challenge away from home:

UTHOFF 2 12-17

As Coach Uthoff eluded to, Anamosa has  a very young and inexperienced varsity squad as well with only one senior competing right now.  Sixteenth-year head coach Kevin Barnes has his young players playing well early on and he holds great respect for Coach Uthoff and the Hawks:

BARNES1 12-17

We’ll have all the action tonight live from Anamosa here on Mix 94.7 and KMCH.com with Sports Director Jon Swisher starting around 7:30pm.
