West Delaware Hosts Freshman Wrestling Tourney

wdWest Delaware’s Freshman Wrestling Tournament was held Monday night… Isaac Johnson and Kaleb Sparks each took first place for the Hawks. Johnson won weight class 132 with a 9-5 decision over Daylne King of Waterloo East and pins over Dubuque Senior’s Trevor Fuller and North Linn’s Alex Wascow. Sparks won weight class 182 with a pin over Monticello’s Gavin Timm and a 13-0 major decision over Payne Niedert of Waterloo East. West Delaware wrestlers Brady Antons took second place with pins over North Fayette Valley’s Lucas Phillips and Dubuque Senior’s Will Wehrspann. Antons lost to Oelwein’s Tyson Decker in sudden victory 8-6. Four West Delaware wrestlers took third place – Brad Rausch, Sam Johnson, Jordan Million and Kaleb Zieser. And two West Delaware Hawks – Brandon Keck and Jordan Rausch – ended the tournament in fourth place.
