Authorities are asking for the public’s help in reporting illegal dumping sites around Clayton County. The Sheriff’s Office says this is an ideal time of year to find sites because of deer hunting season. In 2013, the Sheriff’s Office has responded to several suspected methamphetamine dump sites, typically found in road ditches or secluded tracks of land. Most dump sites consist of ice compress packs, bottles with tubing, lithium battery casings, pseudophedrine boxes or blister packs, lye containers, acid bottles, Coleman fuel, ether containers or plastic bottles usually containing a sludge material. The Sheriff’s Office warns that these materials are hazardous and need the attention of trained deputies. If you come across a suspected meth lab dump site, contact local authorities.
