Kenneth James Atwater, 63, of Manchester passed away on December 27, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Masonville, IA. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 with a 7:30 p.m. Scripture Service at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Manchester. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery, Robinson, IA.
Kenneth was born on May 24, 1950, in Cedar Rapids to Harold and Inez (Zenisek) Atwater. He graduated from Center Point High School in 1968. On November 13, 1974, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann McDowell in Masonville, IA.
Kenneth served in the United States Army and was active member of the Ryan American Legion # 692. He was a life time farmer. He also enjoyed metal fabricating, woodworking, attending auctions and also talking on the CB and Ham Radios. He was a member of the Delaware Fair Board for 9 years. His pride and joy was his grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Patricia of 39 years; three children, Vicki (Dave) Fisher of Tennessee; Alan Atwater (Meg) of Ryan, IA; Karen (Troy) LaGrange of Swisher, IA; grandchildren, Korbin Beatty, Kinzlee LaGrange, Owen Atwater and a new grand-baby due in May; one brother; Donnie (Jill) Atwater of Center Point, three sisters; Diane (Clifford) Bowers of Toddville, Marcia (Doug) Lawrence of Marion, Linda (Jim) Simon of Center Point.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.
