A few area teams played last night despite the cold weather and schools being called off yesterday. The West Delaware boys basketball team hosted class 3A #9 Benton Community inside Seedorff Gymnasium. The Hawks jumped out to a good start and led after one quarter. The Bobcats controlled the rest of the contest and fought off a furious Hawks comeback in the fourth to win 65-57. First-year head coach Matt Uthoff talked about the struggles for his team in the loss despite the impressive effort down the stretch:

The Hawks record sits at 4-5 now and will be off until Saturday when they host Mt. Vernon.
