Four Killed in Fayette County Collision

14000305 115Authorities have not released any further details about an accident that killed four people in Fayette County on Friday. The Sheriff’s Office says a van lost control while heading west on on Highway 18 just northeast of Clermont and crossed the road, hitting an oncoming pickup truck. The driver of the van, 28-year old Shariff Warsame of Postville, and his three passengers, 34-year old Miski Mohamed, 53-year old Khadijo Mohamed and 25-year old Maryan Kulane, all of Postville, died from their injuries. The driver of the truck, 57-year old Tony Schlee, and his passenger, 58-year old Pamela Schlee, both of Elgin, were trapped and had to be freed from their vehicle by emergency personnel. They were both transported to Palmer Lutheran Hospital with serious injuries.
