HS Sports; Thursday Night Basketball and Wrestling Scheduled

Several area basketball teams are slated to compete in weather make-up contests tonight. It includes our featured coverage from KMCH Sports in girls’ hoops; class 4A 15th-ranked West Delaware hosts 3A 11th-rated Center Point-Urbana. The Hawks are 10-2 overall, 8-1 in the WaMaC while CP-U is 8-3 and 7-2 in the conference. Both squads come in with winning streaks. The Hawks have won 8 and the Stormin’ Pointers 5.  Five of the eight Hawks’ wins have come on the road compared to only one away win last season, head coach Harold Shepherd says learning how to win away from home was a must this season:

The West Delaware Hawks wrestling team will be back in WaMaC conference double dual action tonight returning to Van Horne; taking on Anamosa, Williamsburg and Benton Community. Hawks head coach Jeff Voss gives credit to all of his seniors for helping to lead the way on another good squad:
