Two men have been arrested following a hit-and-run in Oelwein Saturday night. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at Viper Lanes Bowling. A caller reported that a vehicle struck two parked vehicles and when the driver was confronted, he tried running over the owner of one of the damaged vehicles. Deputies found the vehicle crashed on 3 1/2 Street with 29-year old Jacob Dudley behind the wheel, trying to get the vehicle out of the snow. Witnesses at the bowling alley told authorities 31-year old Justin Buehler was driving the vehicle when the hit-and-run occurred. They found him hiding at a nearby home. Damage to the vehicles was estimated at more than six-thousand dollars. Deputies discovered both Buehler and Dudley had been driving the vehicle and were both intoxicated as well. Both men were arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated, with Buehler facing additional charges. They were each released from the Fayette County Jail on bond the next day.
