Lake Delhi supporters received the good news they’ve been waiting for on Wednesday. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has signed and issued the Lake Delhi District a federal permit. Lake Delhi Trustees President Steve Leonard says this means they can finally move forward with rebuilding Lake Delhi.
Leonard says their goal is to get started on construction as early as possible in the spring. Construction of the dam should be completed late this year or early next year, with water back in the lake by 2015.
Next week’s special Lake Delhi District Trustees meeting will be held on Monday night at 6:30 pm at the Maquoketa Valley Middle School.
