Four Injured in Clayton County Crash

police-lightsFour people were injured in a crash in Clayton County Friday morning. The Iowa State Patrol says a straight truck tried turning left at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 52 when it was struck in the driver’s side by a pickup truck. Authorities say the straight truck’s driver, 35-year old Walter Jones of Ely, had failed to yield the right-of-way. The straight truck ended up on its side, with the pickup in the ditch. Jones was injured and taken to the Elkader hospital. The driver of the pickup, 47-year old Brian Stortz of Waukon, was also injured, along with his passengers, Blake Stortz of Waukon and Eric Jackson of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
