HS Basketball; Post Season Starts for Boys and Maq. Valley Girls Tonight

The high school boys basketball post season will officially get underway tonight for area teams in class 1A and 2A after being postponed last night because of the latest snow storm. KMCH Sports will have coverage from 2 games. At Dyersville’s class 2A site, 7th-ranked Beckman is 17-4 and will play 9-13 Bellevue at 7pm live on KMCH.com. Blazer head coach Dan Correy talks about the mindset his team has to have heading into a contest tonight where they are the heavy favorite:

The second game of the doubleheader features 13-8 Monticello taking on 18-3 Alburnett at 8:30pm live on KMCH, Sports Director Jon Swisher will have all the action from Beckman high school.

In class 1A, North Linn and East Buchanan get together at 7:o0pm inside North Linn high school near Troy Mills.  The game between Ed-Co at Central Elkader has been rescheduled for Wednesday night at 7pm.

Girls Regional play resumes tonight, class 2A 11th-rated Maquoketa Valley, who is 19-2 hosts 17-5 Clayton Ridge in Delhi. The Wildacts, who are coming off a regular season share of the Tri-Rivers conference West division with North Linn, have won 4 in row heading into regional play. Eighth-year head coach Scot Moenck says because of what a majority of the girls on his varsity roster  experienced last year with their state tournament run, they realize what it takes to be successful during this time of the season:
