The Manchester City Council has given their approval to selling a piece of land to Regional Medical Center. It’s a vacated right-of-way parcel of North 6th Street and West Fayette Street that lies just east of the hospital. RMC requested to purchase the right-of-way so they can move forward with expanding the hospital and building a two-story addition. Regional Medical Center plans to pay nearly 88-hundred dollars for the right-of-way. There will also be a cost-share between RMC and the City to relocate a 12-inch water main and transfer ownership of a portion of the sanitary sewer main in the right-of-way. The City had not received any other written offers for this property. And no one spoke for or against the sale at a public hearing at the council meeting last night.
