Velma Lucille Clute, 93, of Greeley, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on September 17, 1920, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Myrtle (Ingles) Beaman. Velma attended school in Greeley.
On March 3, 1939, Velma was united in marriage with Leslie Clute. They lived in Iowa until moving to Montana. They then moved to Yuma, Arizona, for 26 years. After the death of Les, Velma returned to Greeley and then to Manchester, to live with her son Mike. Velma was active in the Methodist Church and was the city clerk of Greeley.
Velma is survived by her three children, Mike Clute, Gloria (Ron) Jelsvich, and Cookie Willis; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four sisters : Jenny, Nettie, Gerry, and Deona.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ben and Myrtle Beaman; her husband, Leslie; one sister; and one brother.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the Methodist Church in Greeley, Iowa. Officiating : Paddy Druhl.
Visitation: 2 hours prior to the service at the Methodist Church, Greeley.
Interment: Grant View Cemetery – Greeley, Iowa.
