Clark D. Phelps, 72, of Fayette, Iowa, (formerly Edgewood) died on Monday, December 30, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was born on April 12, 1941, in Masonville, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Frances (Fry) Phelps. He was educated in rural Strawberry Point schools and was a 1960 graduate of Strawberry Point High School.
Clark was employed by Culligan Water Systems in Elkader from 1974 until 1992 and worked as a custodian for Upper Iowa University in Fayette from 1996 until 2011. He resided in Edgewood and Fayette.
Survivors include his three children, Daniel (Anna) Phelps of Fennimore, Wisconsin, Darrel Phelps of Mason City, and Teresa (Jim) Tuecke of Oelwein; five grandchildren; and 10 siblings, Ronald (Martha) Phelps of Manchester, Virginia Miller (Friend Dean Calease) of Waverly, Clair (Carol) Phelps of Strawberry Point, Laura (Pat) Farmer of Strawberry Point, Karen (Ray) Busness of Springville, Ethel (Jerry) Manross of Waverly, Cindy (Dennis) Williamson of Marshfield, Missouri, Iona (Frank) Keppler of Strawberry Point, Rita (Dan) Zapf of Littleport, and Kathy Phelps (friend Gordon Main) of Independence.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Frances Phelps.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014, at the Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood. Officiating: Pastor Mike Jackson.
Visitation: One hour prior to services on Friday.
