Congratulations to our February Valued Volunteer: Darla Gaskill of Manchester.  Darla is a recent retiree of West Delaware High School, and continues to volunteer her time and devotion to students at West Delaware High School every day.  She goes above and beyond what’s expected to stay after school and help when a student needs it.

Bluder Becomes Winningest Hawkeye Coach

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) – Iowa’s Lisa Bluder is now the school’s winningest coach. The Hawkeyes (19-6, 7-4 Big Ten) beat Northwestern 90-84 on Monday night to give Bluder her 270th victory at Iowa, surpassing the mark set by C. Vivian Stringer. Bluder has a record of 270-163 in her 14 seasons with the Hawkeyes.

Manchester Woman Sentenced In Lamont Meth Case

A Manchester woman was sentenced to 25 years in prison and fined $5,000 for conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine.  A press release from the Buchanan County Attorney says that 35 year old Addie Craver pled guilty to the charges last Tuesday in Buchanan County District Court.  Craver was previously convicted of Conspiracy to Manufacture Meth in

Fire Destroys House Near Coggon

The Coggon Fire Department was called out Saturday morning to a house fire at a farm house on Monticello Road, two miles east of Coggon just off Highway 13. The house was considered a complete loss.
