Independence Man Killed in Tractor Rollover

An Independence man was killed in a tractor rollover Saturday. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says 64-year old Kenneth Sherrets, Jr. died in the accident in the 2500 block of Quasqueton Diagonal Boulevard southeast of Independence. They say Sherrets was trying to move equipment around and was hauling a fertilizer spreader when his tractor stalled.

Authorities have released the name of the woman who was killed in a brush fire in Oneida Sunday afternoon.
