Joan Margaret Zitelman, 84, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.   She was born on February 9, 1931, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Burke) Leaven.  Joan was raised and educated in the Independence area, graduating from St. John’s Catholic High School.

Monticello Chamber Holds Annual Banquet

The Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual banquet Wednesday night.  Cheryl Dirks was awarded the 2016 MACC Lifetime Award- given to a Chamber member for outstanding leadership and promotion of the town and the chamber.
