Robert Arthur Schwietert – Manchester

Robert Arthur Schwietert, 67, of Manchester, Iowa, died on Monday, October 17, 2016, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester.  He was born on May 2, 1949, in Manchester, the son of  Warren and Mazie (Trottnow) Schwietert.  He was raised and educated in the Colesburg area, and was a 1967 Ed-Co High School graduate.  Bob

Petersburg’s New Home is “The Big House”

  There’s a new hangout in Petersburg. The Big House opened this summer in the former Detour building. The Detour was a popular family-friendly restaurant and bar where the Petersburg community gathered for decades. But when it changed owners several years ago, it lost that family-friendly feel – and it eventually closed, sitting vacant for the
