Several Hawks Qualify For State Track And Field Meet

At the State Track qualifying meets yesterday, the west Delaware boys took second at Decorah.  Charles City was 1st with 139 points; the hawks had 130 points.  Ty Cassutt broke the West Delaware school record in the Long Jump held by Tim Cannon 1972.  Ty qualified for state with a jump of 22’2.25.  West Delaware’s

HS Boys Golf: Sectionals Scheduled for Friday 5-15

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director: The high school boys golf postseason starts today around the state with sectionals.  Area coverage teams and where they will be competing: In class 1A- Starmont hosting Ed-Co and 5 other teams at Backbone starting at 10am. East Buchanan hosting North Linn and 5 other teams at Buffalo Creek Golf Course


Boys River Valley Conference Golf Meet Results

West Branch won the Boys River Valley Conference Golf Meet by just one stroke over Monticello.  West Branch shot a team score of 331.  The Panthers tied with Tipton with a 332, but took second on the fifth man rule tie breaker.  Durant took fourth – just one stroke behind Monticello and Tipton.  Cascade finished


Area Gymnasts Compete at USTA Meet in Webster City

Area gymnasts recently competed at the USTA Power Tumbling meet in Webster City. Seventeen clubs were entered, with around three hundred athletes competing throughout the day. HS Golf: W. Delaware Boys Win WAMAC Super Meet

In boys high school golf, West Delaware won the WAMAC Super Meet at Gardner Golf Course in Marion Monday.  The Hawks finished with a team score of 314 – 11 strokes better than Vinton-Shellsburg, Williamsburg, and Mt.
