Pam Klein was appointed to the position last week, taking the oath of office Friday afternoon.
Klein has spent over thirty years in the Delaware County Treasurer’s Office. She first started in 1978 and became Deputy Treasurer in 1994.
Klein replaces longtime County Treasurer Carolyn Wilson, who retired last week after 43 years in the office.
The Delaware County Supervisors chose to open the position to anyone in the Treasurer’s Office instead of spending thousands of dollars on a special election. Of the four employees in the office, Klein was the lone applicant.
The position will be up for election in November 2018.
