A Delaware teen will be competing in the National High School Rodeo Finals this month. JW (Jordy) Downs, the son of Karla and Jerry Downs of Delaware, will be in 11th grade at Maquoketa Valley this fall. Downs competed in National Junior High Rodeo Finals in New Mexico two years ago, placing 21st in the world after competing against others from Canada, Australia and the United States. This year, he is headed to Wyoming to compete in the National High School Rodeo Finals’ bullriding competition this Sunday night, July 13th during the 7 pm performances and next Saturday, July 19th during the 9 am performances.
