Red Cross Blood Drive

October 8 @ 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm

A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Thursday, October 8th at Xavier School Auditorium in Dyersville from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Give a pint, get a pint.  Receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver’s frozen custard when you make a blood donation.  For an appointment, call Shirley at 875-6015, 800-RED-CROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org.  An appointment is not required but recommended.  Coordinated by the Dyersville Federated Woman’s Club.

Foster Grandparent Meeting

If you are 55 or older and interested in being a Foster Grandparent at a local school or daycare center, attend the Foster Grandparent Informational Meeting Friday, October 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the James Kennedy Public Library in Dyersville.  You can get involved with a minimum commitment of 15 hours a week and earn some extra income.

Lamont Fish Supper

Lord’s Acre Days

October 10 - October 11

Lord’s Acre Days will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th at Golden Congregational Church three miles east of Ryan. Saturday’s events include a Bazaar and Bake Sale at 10:30 am, lunchstand at 11 am, parade at noon and auction at 12:30 pm. Sunday’s events include a pork loin dinner from 11 am to 2 pm, with carryouts available.

Edgewood Fire Extinguisher Inspection

The Edgewood Fire Department will host a fire extinguisher service company at their station on Saturday, Oct. 10th from 9-3. Get your extinguishers inspected and serviced on site  for a small fee. New extinguishers will also be available. This event is for residential, commercial and agricultural fire extinguisher needs.

The Colesburg Fire Department will hold their annual Pork Chop Supper on Saturday, October 10th from 5 to 8 pm at the Colesburg Fire Station. Hamburger meal is $8 and/or smoked pork chop meal is $15. The meal includes Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Beans, Coleslaw and Dessert. They also are having a raffle the same night (tickets cost $5 for 1 or $20 for 5), and there will be many prizes, including a flat screen TV.

St. Patrick’s Fall Festival
