MPL: Library Lego Program

January 18 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

The Manchester Public Library will hold a Library Lego Program on Wednesday, January 18th. Drop in anytime between 1:30 to 3:30 pm and build your own unique creation with the library's legos. Finished creations will then be on display in the children's room.

Manchester Downtown/Riverfront Concept Plan Open House

The City of Manchester will hold an open house for the Downtown/Riverfront Concept Plan on Wednesday, January 18th at 4:30 to 7 pm at the Manchester Fire Station. The public is invited to stop by and share your ideas and opinions on the proposed concept plan for Manchester's riverfront and downtown areas.

Monticello Blood Drive

January 19 @ 11:30 am - 5:30 pm

The Monticello Rotary Club will sponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive in Monticello on Thursday, January 19th from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Monticello Berndes Center. Walk-ins are welcome.  The Red Cross is giving donors a coupon for a free pint of Culver's frozen custard!

JKPL: Soup Supper

January 19 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The James Kennedy Public Library in Dyersvill will hold their annual soup supper on Thursday, January 19th from 5 to 8 pm. Serving chili, chicken noodle soup, crackers, bread, brownies and beverages for $5, with soup refills for $1 each. Carryouts available. 50/50 raffle will also be held. Proceeds will be used to support the library's collections.

JKPL: Used Book Sale

January 20 - January 23

The James Kennedy Public Library in Dyersville will hold a used book sale in the library basement Friday, January 20th through Monday, January 23rd. Hours are Friday 9 to 5, Saturday 9 to 3, Sunday 1 to 4 and Monday 9 to 7. Bags of books are $2 on the last day of the sale.

Buchanan Co. Fair Association Fish Fry

The Buchanan County Fair Association will host a Fish and Chicken Fry on Friday, January 20th from 4:30 to 7 pm at the Buchanan County 4-H Building. $10 per person. All proceeds go to fairground building improvements.

Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser

A Spaghetti Supper will be held Friday, January 20th from 5 to 8 pm in the Ed-Co Elementary Lunchroom (during the Ed-Co/Clayton Ridge basketball games). Proceeds will go to Kay Jones, who is battling breast cancer.

MV Mini Cat Wrestling Tournament

January 21

The Maquoketa Valley Mini Cat Wrestling Tournament will be held Saturday, January 21st at the high school in Delhi. A four-person round robin tourney, with individual awards to all four places and team trophies to 1st thru 4th places. 4-H Gardening Specialty Club Meeting

January 21

A 4-H Gardening Specialty Club is starting in Delaware County! They'll be meeting on Saturday, January 21st at 10 am at Sue's Flower and Garden Center in Manchester. Succulents will be the topic, so bring a small pot and $4 - $10 for a planting to take home. Planned future events include hoop gardening, community service gardening and traditional 4-H activities. Delhi-Hopkinton Knights of Columbus Soup Supper

The Delhi-Hopkinton Knights of Columbus Soup Supper will be held Saturday, January 21st from 5 to 8:30 pm at St. John Church in Delhi. Serving homemade chili, chicken noodle, beef vegetable soups, relishes, bars, coffee and milk. Adults $6, ages 5-12 $3 and under 5 free. Proceeds benefit local non-profits. Public invited. A Xavier Affair

January 27

"A Xavier Affair" will be held Friday night, January 27th at Dyersville Commercial Club Park. This is a dinner fundraiser for St. Francis Xavier School in Dyersville. Social hour starts at 5:30 pm, with dinner at 7 pm. $30 per ticket. Silent and live auction following dinner, with music following the live auction. Four raffle drawings for $600 will also be held - do not need to be present to win! Call the school for tickets and more information.

Delaware County Economic Development and Delaware County Farm Bureau will be hosting the first 2017 Legislative Coffee in Manchester on Friday, February 3rd at 10 am at the Delaware County Farm Bureau meeting room. Legislators from the area will attend to give an update on the session and take questions from the audience. Everyone is welcome to join in the discussion.

Manchester Rotary Bartending at Pin Oak

The Manchester Rotary Club will be guest bartenders at Pin Oak in Manchester on Friday night, February 3rd as part of the "Bartenders for a Cause" program. Stop by from 5 to 8 pm and let them serve you a drink! All of their tips will go to the West Delaware National Honor Society Banquet, which the Rotary sponsors each year.
