Four Boys Laid to Rest This Week

The four boys who died in last weekend’s accident near Epworth are being laid to rest this week. Funeral services for 14-year old Bryce Wilwert of Placid and 14-year old Sean Kenneally of Peosta were held Thursday, with burial in their church cemetaries. Services for 14-year old Mitchell Kluesner of Epworth will be held Friday morning at 10:30 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Epworth, and services for 14-year old Nick Kramer of Dyersville will be held Friday morning at 10:30 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. The four boys died Saturday afternoon from injuries they suffered after the John Deere gator they were riding collided with a pickup truck and horse trailer that failed to stop at a stop sign. The boys would have been freshmen at Western Dubuque High School when school started later this month. The Western Dubuque community has been pulling together this past week since the accident, with many people showing their support by changing their Facebook profile pictures to the Western Dubuque Bobcat logo. Many others have been purchasing and wearing shirts designed to honor the boys’ memories. You can share thoughts and condolences with the families online through the Kramer Funeral Home and Reiff Funeral Home and Crematory websites.
