The Maquoketa Valley Wildcats improved their mark to 8-4 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of there rival Vikings of Ed-Co in Edgewood last night. The Wildcats beat the Vikings for the first time in regular season play since 2013. MV got the 14-7 win in game one after a 10-run 3rd inning with the Vikings responding to score 6 runs to take the game to 7 innings. In the nightcap, the Wildcats dominated scoring 9 runs in the first and winning 16-0 in 4 innings. The Wildcats will face Class 1A second-ranked North Linn on the road in a TRC double header. Ed-Co dropped to 4-8 on the season and will travel to Monona facing MFL-MarMac tonight.

The West Delaware Hawks swept South Tama at home, 13-3 in 6 innings and 9-0 in the second game.
