HS Basketball; Final Regular Season Game Tonight for WD Hawk Girls

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The West Delaware Hawks girls basketball team will end their regular season schedule tonight with a WaMaC conference road game in Marion. The Hawks who are 15-5 will take on an Indians squad with a mark of 6-14. The three Hawk seniors, Reann McCarty, Bethany Hahn and Dorise Nagel will be playing their final road and conference contest. The three were honored in their final home game against Western Dubuque last Friday night. Head coach Harold Shepherd talked about his senior leaders:

SHEP1 2-13

The Hawks are coming off of only their fifth loss of the season Tuesday night in the overtime struggle at Beckman. Coach Shepherd knows they will have to play better in the upcoming games if they want a rematch with Western Dubuque in the Regional semifinal after their first round game against Dubuque Wahlert next Wednesday night.

SHEP2 2-13

We’ll have all of the coverage from KMCH Sports tonight inside Marion high school with Sports Director Jon Swisher and West Delaware AD Mike Morrison live on KMCH and KMCH.com starting around 7:30pm.

Other area girls teams will be playing their final regular season games tonight as well with the post season starting Saturday and next week.
