HS Basketball; Monday Night 2-10 Results/Tuesday Night 2-11 Games

In high school boys basketball last night the class 2A 7th-ranked Beckman Blazers won their 9th game in a row with a 63-48 victory over West Delaware in Manchester. The Blazers started off with an 11-0 run in the first quarter before the Hawks answered. Blazer nineteenth-year head coach Dan Correy shared his thoughts on the contest:

The senior guard, Ryan Olberding had 22 points on the night after having 16 at the half. Sage Maiers scored 13 and Tony Anstoetter added 10 for the Blazers who improved their record to 16-4 overall and 6-1 in the Northeast division of the WaMaC.

Hawks head coach Matt Uthoff was pleased with his teams’ effort but gave Beckman credit for finding a way to win:

The Hawks, who dropped to 5-14 and 2-5 in conference divisional play, were led by junior Jordan Nolz with 18 points. It was the final regular season home game and the seniors were recognized before the start of the game. The 8 members a part of the team include; Austin Beck, Mitch Demmer, Carter Frick, Jody Glubka, Dionndre Gray, Tyler Tjaden, Nathan Wegmann and manager Tyler Wulfekuhle.
