By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The West Delaware Hawks Girls Basketball team ended their season Saturday night inside Seedorff Gymnasium with a 39-29 loss to Anamosa. The Hawks finished their season at 8-14 overall. The game was filled with aggressive defense that caused turnovers on each side that led to the low scoring theme. Hawks 2nd-year head coach Rod Conrad talked about the disappointing final game for his squad:

The Hawks say good bye to 4 seniors; Jamie Glanz, Sarah Morkel, Haley Lyness and Annie Cassutt. Anamosa will be in Mount Vernon taking on the 10th-rated Mustangs at 7pm in the 3A Region 5 semifinal on Wednesday night.

In Region 6, Monticello advanced with a 49-32 victory at home over Beckman. The Blazers close out at 8-14 and will lose 5 seniors to graduation. The Panthers will travel to LaPorte City to face Class 3A 6th-ranked Union Wednesday night at 7pm, all the coverage can be heard on KMCH and/or KMCH.com.
