West Delaware’s Harrison Guetzko and Carter Frick both shot a one-under par 35 to take co-medalist honors and lead West Delaware to the WaMaC East Division Golf title Monday at Fawn Creek in Anamosa. The Hawks had a team score of 152. Beckman took 3rd with a 163; Western Dubuque was 5th with 170 and Anamosa 7th with a 178. Guetzko was declared the East Division Individual Champ on the tie-breaker. Marion won the West Division meet at Shellsburg.
Western Dubuque hosted the annual girls golf East Divisional WaMaC conference meet yesterday afternoon at Timberline Golf Course near Peosta. Beckman placed first out of 7 teams. The Blazers carded a 185, just ahead of Western Dubuque who scored 191. Anamosa came in 5th place with a 210, West Delaware was 6th with a 239. Beckman Junior Brooke Klostermann was the overall medalist with a 40, just two strokes ahead of her twin sister Blair. West Delaware Junior Nicole Gonner led the way for the Hawks with a 54 followed by Mariah Kleitsch 60, Jaclyn Juergens 61, Carly Gudenkauf 64, Molly Moorman 69 and Emily Klein a 75. The girls WaMaC conference Super Meet will be held back at Timberline next Monday starting at 9am. Williamsburg took the West Division title at Three Elms in Independence.
At the Tri-Rivers Boys Conference meet at Pin Oak in Manchester – East Buchanan was the top team with a 341. Chris Cooksley of East Buchanan was medalist with an 80.
Elkader Central edged Ed-Co by one stroke at Elkader Country Club 178-179. Blake Rodenberg of Central was medalist with a 42.
Monticello beat Camanche 170-198 at Monticello Golf Course. Monticello’s Cody Menster and Ben Bollwitt were co-medalists with a 42.
The Elkader Central Girls defeated Ed-Co 198-229. Central’s Alyssa Purman was medalist with a 46.
