By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The 6th-seeded 23-3 Cascade Cougars had their season come to a close in disappointing fashion yesterday afternoon. Second-seeded Treynor improved to 27-0 with a 43-41 victory as they overcame a 13-point deficit to spoil the Cougars dreams of a title game appearance. Cascade, which had allowed only 36 points a game coming into the tournament, led 37-24 late in the third quarter and 40-35 with 6 1/2 minutes left. Lisa Tucker led the way with 12 points. Cascade, in the tournament for the fourth time in five years and sixth time total since 2002 is now 6-6 in state tourney games. The Cougars say good bye to seven seniors.
