Regional Class 1A & 2A Quarterfinals took place last night:

In 1A- 

At Dunkerton


Central City upset #14 Dunkerton, 5-4

At New Albin

Lansing Kee 12, Central Elkader 0 (3 innings)

CLASS 2A –  

In Alburnett

Ed-Co had their season ended by 15th-rated Alburnett on the road last night. The Vikings jumped on the board first early in the game but the Pirates offense eventually came on and rolled to the 10-1 win. Ed-Co’s final record is 21-19 and they say goodbye to 5 seniors.

In Lowden

Maquoketa Valley’s season came to a close as well against 14th-ranked North Cedar by the score of 8-1. The Wildcats have 3 seniors leaving the program and closed the campaign with a 16-21 mark. 

At Durant

Durant 13, Cascade 2 (5 innings)

 In regular season play, the class 4A 9th-ranked West Delaware softball team closed out their regular season with a 5-2 home loss to class 5A 6th-rated Cedar Rapids Jefferson. The Hawks sit at 28-7 now and will prepare to host their Regional semifinal Saturday night at Sill field.

Tonight class 4A and 5A Regionals get underway;

Our featured game from KMCH Sports is a class 4A Region 2 1st round contest as 18-21 Western Dubuque hosting 15-17 Decorah in Farley at 7pm with Sports Director Jon Swisher and Bill Logan. The winner will make the trip to Manchester Saturday night to take on West Delaware.
