You may have noticed a new face at the Delaware County Extension Office. Amber Luckstead has taken over for Lori Scovel as the Delaware County Extension Program Director. Luckstead grew up involved in 4-H and has previous experience serving at the county and state levels for Extension. She also served in the Air Force for over seven years. Luckstead says in her new position, she’ll be coordinating the many programs the Extension offers to the public, including 4-H, the Master Gardeners and Food and Nutrition, as well as Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Luckstead started her new position on July 1st – jumping in just days before the Extension’s biggest event of the year, the Delaware County Fair. She says so far, her experience here has been wonderful.
The Manchester Chamber Ambassadors recently stopped by the Extension Office to welcome Luckstead. The Ambassadors also visited Kluesner Flooring to meet with owner Jason Kluesner and manager Lyle Hoffman at their location in the Corcoran Furniture building. Kluesner has been an installation contractor for all types of floor and tiling projects since 1996 and has now expanded, carrying a large variety of floor covering for the home and office. The Ambassadors also stopped by Mueller Family Dentistry across from the Delaware County Courthouse to meet Dr. Chad Mueller, who purchased Dr. Krista Berryhill’s dental practice. Mueller, a Marion native, practiced in the Chicago area and Coralville before purchasing the denistry in late May. And the Ambassadors enjoyed lunch at the new K & J Cafe (formerly known as The Glenn Restaurant). The new owner, Kim Harker of Winthrop, has more than twenty years experience in the restaurant business. The cafe offers a daily breakfast and lunch special, plus all-you-can-eat cod on Friday nights.
