Manchester Fire Dept. Offers Exploring Program to Young People

The Manchester Fire Department has partnered with the Exploring Program to give high school students hands-on opportunities to learn about a career in firefighting and emergency services. The Manchester Fire Department Firefighting and Emergency Services Exploring Program is designed to give students the information and hands-on experiences associated with a career in firefighting and emergency services. The group’s activities include firefighting skills, rope rescue, and use of the self-contained breathing apparatus.

This Exploring program meets at the Manchester Fire Station the first Monday each month from 7:00-8:30 pm. at the Manchester Fire Department.

Exploring programs are open to young men and women ages 14-20 who have completed the eighth grade. These programs are a great way to learn about career interests in addition to meeting new friends.
