Margie Reinert – Edgewood

Margie Reinert photoMargie Emma Reinert, 82, of Edgewood, Iowa, died on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home.  She was born on January 12, 1932, in Greeley, the daughter of Ben and Maggie (Klosterman) Funke.  Margie was raised and educated in Greeley.

On January 19, 1954, Margie was united in marriage to John Reinert at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Greeley. Together they farmed southwest of Edgewood until they moved to farm in Littleport.  In 1977, after the death of John, she moved to Elkader where she was employed by Theis Clothing for ten years and was a supervisor for 14 years at Rise, Ltd.

Margie enjoyed quilting, doing fancy work, spending time with grandchildren, her sons and family, and friends.

Survivors include her three sons, Mike (Angie) Reinert of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Maureen) Reinert of Parkersburg, Wally (Susan) Reinert of Fort Payne, Alabama; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Esther Lechtenberg of Edgewood; and three sisters-in-law, Ida Funke of Illinois,  Mae Funke of Manchester, and Doris Funke of Edgewood.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Irene Mensen, Helen Vaske, and Charlotte Mensen; and four brothers, Ed, Ralph, Art, and Lester in infancy.

Visitation:  2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial:  10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Edgewood, Iowa.  Celebrant:  Rev. Stephen Lundgren.

Interment:  St. Mark’s Catholic Cemetery  -  Edgewood, Iowa.
