Renee Pins has been awarded the “Life Saving Award” from the City of Manchester. Pins, a Manchester Aquatic Center lifeguard, aided Steven Weber immediately after he became injured in a diving incident along the Maquoketa River last Sunday. Weber suffered five fractured vertebra and is considered lucky to be walking. This is the second “Life Saving Award” the City has presented this summer, with the other involving a lifeguard who saved a three-year old boy from a near-drowning at the Aquatic Center.
