Severe Afternoon Storms Quickly Move Through Eastern Iowa

Severe weather moved through the eastern Iowa late Wednesday afternoon, triggering several severe thunderstorm warnings.

The storms quickly moved north, traveling at 50 to 60 miles per hour.

In Clayton County a mile east of Monona, a house was damaged and a machine shed was destroyed. In Volga, large tree branches were reported down. And quarter-sized hail was reported a mile southwest of Dyersville. The National Weather Service has not received any further storm reports from the KMCH listening area.

The storms that moved through the KMCH listening area later led to tornado warnings in southwest Wisconsin. Tornado warnings were also issued elsewhere across the state.
