Two Injured in Back-to-Back Buchanan County Rollovers

police-lightsTwo people were injured in back-to-back rollovers in Buchanan County Thursday night. The Sheriff’s Office says the first call came in around 7 pm with a report of an accident in the 3300 block of 330th Street northwest of Coggon. An investigation shows 16-year old Jazimen Brunkhorst of Coggon was eastbound when she lost control, went into the ditch and rolled over, with the vehicle coming to rest on its roof. Brunkhorst was transported to Saint Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids with minor injuries. Her vehicle was totaled. Then less than an hour later, authorities responded to another rollover in the 3000 block of Highway 150 southwest of Rowley. Investigators say 18-year old Megan Fauver of Independence was northbound when she went into the ditch and rolled over. Fauver was assisted out of her vehicle by deputies and transported to the Buchanan County Health Center. Her vehicle was also totaled. The accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
